The second issue of Register and Context has been published. We are currently seeking submissions to be published in our third issue. Please refer to our Call for papers.

Register and Context is published as an open-access, peer-reviewed electronic journal, appearing twice a year. The journal publishes articles, book reviews, research and discussion notes on topics dealing with the discourse of occupational speech communities. In particular, we encourage young scholars such as graduate students and those just embarking on their career to contribute to this journal.

The centre of interest is linguistic concerns from a pragmatic and sociolinguistic perspective, though contributions with a focus on the more traditional linguistic fields such as syntax and semantics are also welcome. As such, authors are encouraged to submit articles on linguistic, applied linguistic and educational topics seen through the perspective of language for special purposes.

The next issue of Register and Context will be out in April 2009.
